MOOD:
Tired. The husband and oldest daughter left early for the weekend, and we had gone to bed late. I was in a hopeful mood, hoping that I could get a lot done today. Youngest daughter was raring to go do anything and everything, so right off the bat she stripped in her crib. This pretty much set the tone for her day. She was a tasmanian devil all day, pretty much getting into everything all day.
BREAKFAST:
McDonalds. I was totally not hungry, I just needed to get some breakfast in youngest and get her out of the house, and I didn’t really have any good options at home. I got a bagel sandwich, and I actually kind of hated it. I ate only part of it. I followed up with a swing past Dutch to get my usual. So so not necessary. When I stop and think about what was going through my head, I think I spend all week waiting to get to the weekend so that I can relax. When I actually get to the weekend, I don’t ever have a plan for how to feed the family. So in minute one, when everyone’s demanding food, I tend to lose it. What I’m seeing from this, is I need a Protocol for the Weekend.
LUNCH:
We did some work in the house, and around by the duck corral, and I decided to go forward with getting something to help with the pond because it was gross and needing to be worked on. So we piled back into the car and headed back into town. I had to grab things at a few different places, and given the time, I realized it was time to get some lunch. Again, this was a situation that I’ve created where because I don’t have a plan for the weekend I can easily talk myself into eating bullshit. So plugging the Protocol for the Weekend concept. In any event, I hit Wendy’s. Double cheeseburger and fries, with a coke. (Wendy’s, what is up with your drink machine? It sucks. I know that McDonalds is very specific about their drinks, Wendy’s you should really take some notes here because regardless of what I order, it sucks.) I wasn’t exactly hungry, but I did stop before I was overly full.
DINNER:
This was the one meal I had a plan for, which was seriously just “pasta”. Plain pasta with butter and some variety of cheese has been an old school comfort food for me. I made it here at a point that Youngest was really losing her marbles. I think a few things were happening here. Not only had it been a weird food day, but also, she hadn’t had a good nap, and she seemed like she was getting hungry. I wasn’t really hungry here either, but I did also knock it off before I was uncomfortably full.
SNACKS:
I’m an idiot. I was trying to watch some videos on some things I’m trying to learn and I suddenly wanted some chocolate and without thinking went and got into some Reese’s peanut butter cups. I stopped at 9 (ugh). But I did stop. I wasn’t hungry, I knocked it off before I was overly full.
Lessons Learned:
- Make a Weekend Protocol for the entire family.
