EATS: 07-03-24

Mood:

Decent mood, I was organized for the morning, which was good. But I also was a little apprehensive about the wide swath of stuff I’d need to get through at work.

Breakfast:

  • What I ate: Dutch.
  • Hunger Before: No.
  • Satisfaction After: I didn’t finish, and I didn’t feel overfull.
  • Why did I eat, what was the thought in my head: because I wanted the best possible mood walking in to work, feeling totally prepared, and shorting myself on something I loved didn’t sound like a way to do it.

Lunch:

  • What I ate: chicken strips and jo jos with fry sauce.
  • Hunger Before: I did have a hunger pang before hand.
  • Satisfaction After: I finished. I didn’t feel overfull.
  • Why did I eat, what was the thought in my head: this is my lunchtime, I think I was hungry. I did it while working on importing something significant, but I got the import started, clocked back out, and ate while watching so I could try to be more present.

Dinner:

  • What I ate: salad, bread, pasta salad, and soy sauce chicken.
  • Hunger Before: no, but I really really wanted food.
  • Satisfaction After: I did not finish my chicken, I was getting full.
  • Why did I eat, what was the thought in my head: I didn’t need the bread but I wanted it. It took awhile to make dinner, I had to make the marinade and then marinate the chicken, make the pasta salad, and the green salad, then I had to grill the chicken in batches becuase I wasn’t able to put it on the grill all at once. It was a long time to be fiddling with food and not eat any so of course I wanted some. The chicken and the salad and the bread were all very good. The pasta salad left something (not sure what?) to be desired, but it wasn’t bad.

Snack:

  • What I ate: a roll of keebler fudge cookies.
  • Hunger Before: no.
  • Satisfaction After: I finished. I didn’t feel overfull.
  • Why did I eat, what was the thought in my head: I wanted a moment to celebrate being done with the day. I ate these in bed, alone, while reading. And I really made an effort to enjoy them.

Wins:

There were a handful.

  • Took stairs each time today.
  • Did well at not snacking in the afternoon when I wasn’t hungry.
  • I’ve been drinking sparkling water to get my water intake up.
  • Getting into bed earlier. I didn’t actually go to sleep earlier, but it was nice to sit down.
  • I didn’t journal but I got this written the next day.
