Mood:
OK, was worried I would be a hungover mess, but I was just fine really.
Breakfast:
- What I ate: Dutch.
- Hunger Before: No.
- Satisfaction After: I didn’t finish it, but I really enjoyed it.
- Why/Thought: So, as I was driving up, some man ran up in front of my car to get to the window first. I figured he was busy or something and thought nothing more of it, but the nice guy totally paid for my drink. I felt lucky, kind of special, to the world.
Lunch:
- What I ate: pretzels, some chocolate cone sprinkle things from Walgreens.
- Hunger Before: No.
- Satisfaction After: Slightly overfull, not really uncomfortable, but mentally annoyed.
- Why/Thought: It’s my lunch break I should get to eat a thing. But the thing was this wasn’t lunchy food, this was bullshit. And, really I had spent some time contemplating before I went to Walgreens to pick up my scripts whether to get some naughty snacks. I had been craving chocolate during the morning.
Dinner:
- What I ate: brown bread with brats, sauteed onions and peppers with mozzarella. And some cherries.
- Hunger Before: No, but I had to feed the rest of the crew and this had been a meal idea for a few weeks.
- Satisfaction After: Satisfied, not uncomfortable after 1 brat, but then I had a second one, which was just super silly.
- Why/Thought: I did not want to put it away in the fridge.
Snack:
- What I ate: (garbage?) I had a breakfast casserole muffin (a casserole that I baked in jumbo muffin tins–egg, hash brown, sausage, onion and pepper).
- Hunger Before: no.
- Satisfaction After: This was not necessary.
- Why/Thought: I think the entire office was struggling to be focused. I had stopped to have this snack and I did enjoy it but I was kind of using it to sort of reboot and hoping that afterwards I would settle into super-productive mode. I did not. As it turns out, Food doesn’t do that.
Wins:
- I took the stairs, althought I didn’t want to, all day.
- I didn’t quite pick the worst things I could at Walgreens.
- I did drink some sparkling water.
- I was glad to make a meal I was interested in trying.
- I got myself to journal day-of.
